My film productions Ident

My group debated for quite a while on what our Ident should be as it to symbolise our film production and our company and it should represent our film as well. We decided upon the Darkfire Ident which is a picture of the gates of hell which i believe is very relevant to my film, but it also shows we have fire in production, and how we are terrifying the film market and business with our up and coming skills and how have produced a top quality production

Normally there would be a darkfire.co banner at the top but due to techinical problems I can't put it on.

My third pitch idea

 Return
This is a pure thriller pitch which includes some elements of other genres but contains most of the conventions of the thriller genre which is mystery, suspense, and darkness. it focuses on a dog wlker who suddenly has a visioon of a dark, horrifying apocalyptic version of his world, it has a low droning voice in the background. This is pure thriller conventions but it can have some conventions from other genres like sci-fi

Second pitch idea

Never look back

It is a combination of sci-fi and a thriller it focuses on the struggle of a super solider created by the government and then abandoned and now he is loose in the countryside trying to exact his revenge while enhancing his powers with the very same chemicals used to create him. And he locates a small village with a large tie to his past and he finds the old military base where he was augmented. This would combine the most popular genre in my questionnaire which is sci-fi with the required genre which is of course thriller.

The green mile

The green mile

I have reviewed the green mile which is a film adapted from the novel by Stephen King and it is a very conventional thriller but it does have its unconventional moments.

We have here a clip from the movie where the two wardens are confronting the younger warden after he purposely botched the execution of a prisoner. The mise-en scene is perfect you have the surrounding which is a replication of an old american prison’s execution room and the lighting is very useful as it is daylight but it is still dark enough to add atmosphere. The costumes symbolise what they are portraying as prison wardens and the camera position is a side shot where we can see all three of them but close enough to see the expressions and their eye contact.

This is the most terrifying part of the film with the botched execution of the prisoner and he is roasted alive. Here it is almost dark symbolising the dark nature of the event taking place. Also we are still in the execution room but it is filled with people in period costume which is set in the late 1930s.
